Wushu Project’s Dragon Dance workshop is a curriculum-based dance program that explores effective team building and critical conversation skills through a high-energy and culturally rich dance experience. As the students must all work in unison with the dragon, they learn that positivity, teamwork and being inclusive are all requirements to move forward. Participates gain a sense of empowerment and leadership through this workshop. Students identify their strengths and celebrate with a positive affirmation and broaden their understanding of how they can make the world a more inclusive place. This is a 5-session workshop each lasting 45 minutes, where the program cumulates to a school-wide presentation that showcases their new skills.
What you can expect at our dragon workshops…
Participates will work as 9-person team to bring the dragon dance costume to life. They will work through exercises that unify their efforts to coordinate the multiple segments of the dragon in sync. Participate will have to use effective communication in order to actively involve all 9 team members regardless of the physical attributes, age or gender.

It has been a growing tradition to have lions bless wedding couples in hopes to have a long and health union. Often you will see lions unveiling scrolls/banner with traditional Chinese weddings sayings such as; “100 Years of Good Marriage” or “A Union of Hearts.”
